BB Art & Design is a compilation of works by Brooke Bofill, a graduate of Stony Brook University, with a fine arts BA and a concentration in sculpture and print making. Creating art has been a form of expression since a young age, drawing influence from local environmental surroundings of Eastern Long Island, various travels to different countries (early 2000s until currently), and experiences within human relations. The bodies of work play with organic shape versus forced structure, and the application of color to create mood and emotion.
Sculpture began as a form of personal therapy and a way of expressing emotion, feeling and vision.
My work expresses feelings of opposite extremes — tension, anxiety, and forced scenarios verses organic, natural, and free of restriction. This concept and idea coexists and transcends through sculpture, prints, photography and mixed media. Another concept or reoccurring theme is attachment or lack of and instead maybe artificial attachment.
